We have been selling memory foam mattresses since they first became available in the UK, we have now developed in conjunction with a leading manufacturer a superior quality mattress incorporating Outlast® temperature control technology.
There are 3 main features to this mattress.
The first is the 10cm of 55kilo of top quality memory foam. What does this mean? 10cm of memory foam is generally considered to be the optimum depth for memory foam, there are many mattress with less than this, some with as little as 2cm. There are many reasons why a manufacturer will use thinner layers of memory foam and not always related to cost, but if it is a Memory mattress you require we have found 10cm to be the best. the 55kilo refers to the density of the memory foam and it is all a bit scientific, but if the density is too low you will not get the correct support and if the density goes to high you will find that it makes the mattress uncomfortable, with 55kilos seeming to present the best balance. Why is this top quality, because it is made in the UK under strictly controlled conditions, a lot of memory foam and not always at the cheaper end is made in foreign factories where quality standards are not of the highest, particularly with regards to flammability.
The next feature is the base layer, the mattress is around 20cm deep overall giving you 10cm of a super quality support foam, this is an area where many people skimp because everyone seems to focus on the memory foam and the cover of the mattress and then seem to forget if the mattress does not have a good foundation everything else is a waste of time.
The third feature is the cover. This mattress has a zip off removable washable cover and an Outlast layer. The zip off removable cover has two advantages, one is that you can wash it if it becomes soiled but more importantly it gives you the facility to turn the cover to distribute wear of the cover evenly. The Outlast fabric is a NASA accredited fabric which keeps your temperature even, some mattresses have a fabric which keeps you cool, well that seems a great idea unless it makes you too cool, so here is some information about Outlast and how it works.
